My email message to Wade Page of Fentress County Chamber of Commerce regarding Thunder Valley Rottweilers

December 16th, 2007 · 2 Comments

Dear Mr. Page,

Attached is a letter that I sent to your Executive Director - Mr. Upchurch. I thought as the Tourism Director, you would be especially sensitive to the way that outsiders view your fair township.

I am sorry to say that at this point I don’t have a favorable opinion of folks in Fentress county. My evaluation of them is based upon interaction with a limited number of people and reports from people who live nearby that the authorities have turned a blind eye to a terrible situation for quite some time. I am speaking about the horrible situation that has been allowed to fester at Thunder Valley Rottweilers.

I’m sure that you and Mr. Upchurch together can make a difference and help save the dogs that are being so horribly mistreated.

My offer of help is the same to you, call my office number, or reach me at my home.

Sincerely,
‘DoobiesDad’

As a relative newcomer to TN, what we see happening at Thunder Valley is happening a lot more than people would like to think. The “law” turns a blind eye towards animal welfare and in some cases, as we are seeing now, the welfare of a child. I have witnessed myself, a “rescue” person here in my county, going into a filthy home to rescue a puppy (that was “adoptable”) and turning a blind eye towards the child running around half naked and barefooted in 30 degree weather!

A good day for me is when I drive down my mountain and I do not have to dodge a starving dog in the road or swerve to miss the one already hit by a car lying in the road.

Hopefully, what is happening at Thunder Valley Rottweilers will open the eyes of some who can help with this heartbreaking situation going on all over this state as well as the entire country.

And my hopes is that because this is happening with the breed that so many of us love so, that it will also help with some of those other dogs out there that are not “adoptable” because they are ugly or not pleasing to look at.

My dogs and all of yours have no idea as they lie in our beds at night (sometimes pushing us out) how very blessed they are that they got us - not someone like those two up there at Thunder Valley Rottweilers.

    Sincerely,
Mom to: Summer, Stonie, Dillon and the cats

Debbie, what the hell is wrong with these people in Tenn.?! it’s kinda sad when people in other states care more than people in there own county, I have called all the above and so have others and they say they know about the issue and are dealing with it. I know AKC is as I talked to one of the investagators. did anyone see the news on them, I sadly missed it. what was said. were both ladies on there? don’t you have a shelter there is there one close or what do your county comm. say?!!
