Q: Do you have a definition of Internet crime that I can refer to?
Internet crime is defined as any illegal activity involving one or more components of the Internet, such as websites, chat rooms, and/or email. Internet crime involves the use of the Internet to communicate false or fraudulent representations to consumers. These crimes may include, but are not limited to, advance-fee schemes, non-delivery of goods or services, computer hacking, or employment/business opportunity schemes.
Q: Can I file a complaint if I have been defrauded of money or goods?
If you believe you are the victim of an Internet crime, or if you are aware of an attempted crime, you can file a complaint on our website. Be sure to include as much information as possible about yourself (i.e. name, email address, mailing address, etc.), the perpetrator, and the Internet crime that you are reporting in order to expedite your complaint.
My suggestion is that when you file a complaint, in any and all written documents, use proper grammar and correct all spelling mistakes and typos before final submission. Have several people proof read your work. Do NOT use colorful language (cursing) or be overly harsh in the way that you describe the parties that defrauded you. It is OK to show emotion, but do so in a restrained way. Facts are the most important thing. If you have cancelled checks, dated emails, return receipts, etc. all of that is good stuff.
In my opinion, it is much easier to shut down a business based upon the owner being charged and convicted of Federal crimes than it is to shut down one based upon the mistreatment of animals. If you really want to help the animals that are being mistreated, it is better to remove the owner(s) so that the animals MUST be rescued.

What is going on with all this now that it is 2008? I have had no news on anything except a
rumor that someone is suing her.
I also was privvy to a letter written by
a TV pup owner that says all this is trumped up
and their dog is awesome and Joan is
great and her place is not the way it is portrayed
here. ???

Bmac - If you believe what ONE person who writes something supportive about Joan Foote says, compared to the dozens and dozens of horror stories listed here have to say, then I’m not sure you have been paying attention.
It isn’t a ‘rumor’ that someone is suing Joan, it is a FACT.

for a look at the conditions of the animals in Joan Foote’s care. My advice would be to do so on an empty stomach. Also, be sure to click on the ‘thumbnails’ so you can examine the LARGE photos. You will be able to clearly read the names of dogs on the crates that you can cross check against the Thunder Valley Rottweiler website that Joan has.
Someone may have gotten a dog from Joan that eventually turned out to be an awesome dog. The facts remain these:
1) The dog was mistreated as a puppy and was likely sick when delivered
2) The dog’s heritage will be in question if bred by Joan to one of her bitches as she is currently suspended and the AKC is not registering ANY litters by TVR
3) It isn’t the dog’s fault that Joan mistreats them, and it isn’t to Joan’s credit if the dog turns out great.

To the “naysayer” .. trust me they are currently being sued by one party and I will be filling my suit next week, COUNT ON IT !!! I never have needed anyone to tell me how I should be feeling about this whole issue as IT HAS PERSONALLY AFFECTED ME AND MY FAMILY PLUS I HAVE BEEN THERE PERSONALLY, Be careful when you imply others are not being forthright. On another note ; how has this had an effect on you ?? Were you taken advantage of? Did you have your emotions played with? Did you wait expectantly litter to litter to litter for a new pup? Did you advance monies in good faith , only to lose them? Did you finally get a pup only to have it be sick? Did you spend your hard earned monies to a Vet to have your sick pup taken care of? Did you pay for a show dog , then recieve a pet dog and a sick one at that? So have you done? I know you have ; the only thing you have done is question others about concerns of which you have no business speaking about. Sure ask questions of any of us, we will be truthful we promise, as for the picture thing , come on, its exactly like when you know company is coming over , so what do you do ” clean the house” so what if this person stopped by and the place was getting or has been cleaned, I mean DUH lets see ; photos have been posted showing the conditions, people are talking about it, law suits are being put in the works, AKC is coming to see if corrections have been made , your worried about getting off refferal by AKC, all types of agencies have been notified about conditions at the property, on and on and on. What person not in their right mind would NOT clean things up , back to the DUH. As for me personally KUDOS to them for cleaning it up, KUDOS to them if they are taking better care of themselves and their animals, however that does nothing to change the past and past business unfinished, N O T H I N G at all. Haven’t posted for awhile so just to let “bmac” know—there are many of us still working behind the scenes as we were all suggested to do. DO NOT for one minute think that any of us, and there are many, have forgotten what we, our families, and our dogs have gone through in dealing with these crooks. Like I said in previous posts, this did not happen overnight and it will not go away overnight. Our family has done everything in our power to help end this nightmare and so have plenty others. Again, there will always be “naysayers” anytime there is a scandal. But those that have dealt personally with these “predators” (I liked that previous post), know full well the pain and the damage they have caused. Until any of you walk in our shoes, you don’t have much of a leg to stand on and as admin says, are not paying attention much to this site. Do any of us really care about the “naysayers”??? I for one do not. The trueth shall set us all free and those poor Rotties. This scandal alone and TVRs horrible acts have done irreparable damage to their reputation. For this I am grateful. AKC has also done their part in helping end their criminal behavior. So you see, it is baby steps, but very important steps. More is being done behind the scenes, do not doubt this for one minute. Keep up the great work everyone and focus on the big picture. It is happening no matter what anyone says. And David and family, we wish you the very best luck with your legal actions and will say a prayer for you and others going into court against TVR.

Guys, don’t jump on me! I have offered my help
to this page regarding this issue. Luckily, I have
not been subjected to Joan’s dishonest behaviors. I did know Joan years ago when she was “reputable”.
Simply, I did not see any recent posts here when I signed in and wanted an update.
I am not a “naysayer”. Nor do I think that one
letter regarding Joan’s “wonderfulness” makes it so.
Please don’t rush to judge me, as I am on YOUR side and the side of the dogs.

My post was directed at “TV pup owner” and any and all “naysayers”, not “bmac” personally. Just giving an update, refresher course, stating facts, and cheering us all on again. For that I refuse to apologize. I stand behind what I say 100%. Keep in mind, there are those watching this site that are not on our side and its good to let them know this is by far not over.

Just so you all know, I am Barb McNinch and I am the author of “Training Your Rottweiler”.
I am also a canine behavior specialist, owner of
rotties for over 10 yearss and a professional obedience instructor for over 25 years.
I am on the side of truth, honesty and ethical breeding practices for this breed as well as all canines.

Nice to have you here. I hope I didn’t come on too strong, but I have seen some of the ’supportive’ posts on other sites… and quite frankly it pisses me off.
There should be no defense of the indefensible.
Please excuse my exuberance. I doubt that you would support the practices of Joan Foote and Stephanie Paulter at Thunder Valley Rottweilers, were you to witness it first hand.

and I hope that those of you who were ripped off and those dogs who are there and suffering, will soon be helped.
As I said before, I have not had the misfortune
with them that you all have, but I am here to
lend support in whatever ways I can.
I HAVE had the misfortune of being “taken” by others in the Rottie world, some of whom are
also very close to Joan to this day.
I have been cheated and I have received dogs in the past that could not do the work for which they were intended, who died by age 2, who were severely disabled by age 3, etc.
I know the pain, the anger and the need to
seek justice.

I have already been doing so, I have called this
to the attention of quite a few people.
Most that show and breed are not willing to take a stand that I can tell.
I have heard the “talk” from a friend or two
Most turn away from a frank and honest discussion on this subject. No one wants to “call out” non ethical breeders.
I do know that one person who has been breeding for many years and been around TV
is now trying to steer people away in subtle ways.
Hunter L. says he has made surprise visit to TV and everything was fine. He said that this website is full of incorrect accusations and definite errors regarding the condition of the dogs, kennels, etc. He says he knows nothing about the ethics charges.

I read that… someone who is a member here was kind enough to forward his post.
I don’t know Hunter Lund, but his credibility is questionable compared to the dozens of REAL, LIVE, VICTIMS of Joan Foote’s CRIMINAL behavior.
That is why I have called him out. And as for a surprise visit to Blunder Valley, who in their right mind would just ‘happen’ to drive through Jamestown TN on their way to anywhere? And just to have a look-see to see if the ‘rumors’ were true….. I don’t believe it for a second. It smacks of collusion. I think that there is something more than just ‘unsolicited’ support for Joan going on in the case of Hunter.
We have been told that Joan Foote, Stephanie Paulter, and their help scrubbed like dervishes for days trying to get things cleaned up and back to a respectable level because of the negative attention that this site brought on them. Does that change the FACTS of the stories posted here? NO. Does that change the conditions of their kennel as recorded in photographs? NO. Does that change the elements of CRIMINAL behavior and FRAUD that is part of almost every puppy sale that Joan Foote has made for the last few years. NO.
So for those that think Hunter Lund brings a true perspective of how good things are at Thunder Valley Rottweilers and what a great person Joan Foote is, and what an ethical breeder she is, then I have some swamp land in Florida that I think you could make a fortune off by turning into a condo development. Maybe Hunter could be your sales manager.
