My husband and I dealt with Stephanie and Joan a little over a year ago. We were scheduled to get a dog from a litter that was due very soon. It turned out that 11 out of 12 puppies in that litter died. So they bumped us to a different litter. We decided we were driving from Boca Raton Florida to Tennesssee to pick our puppy. We did not want our puppy shipped we did not see a reason for an 8 week old puppy to go through more shock than it already had to leaving its mother. We noticed the night we took her back to the hotel room we were staying at that her tail looked a little weird. We also noticed the puppy had very bad runny stools and was urinating everywhere. When we got back to Florida the next day we took her to see a veterinarian. The vet said she had coccidia which is normal in puppies and they had concerns about the dogs tail also. We took her home and went On with our business. We enrolled her in puppy training one on one with a trainer and she was being trained in home. After a couple of months her obedience improved slightly but she was still anxious all of the time. Her urination problem was still a problem. We tryed crate training and she urinated in her crate, on the floor, in the street and even on people. She also began the bowel movement problems in her crate. At this rate she was eating it now. And licking her urine. Every day we were bathing her and cleaning up after her. So we decided to give it a few months and see what happens. Within a month or so my husband noticed discharge from her vagina. We immediately took her to a vet and they tested her urine and nothing was wrong so they put her on meds for urinary issues and also for her loose stools. A month or so went by and we were in the vets office once again. Now the discharge went from white to green and running down the dogs leg. In this process my dog also decided to not eat her food so we switched it. She started to eat this new food. After seeing this same vet frequently we woke up one morning to find live worms coming from the dogs rear end. We took her to an animal hospital they treated her and sent her on her way. We were at the vet again shortly. The discharge was getting worse so the vet told us to see a specialist. We went to a specialist and the specialist said teh dog had pyometra. Note that the dog never had her heat. We also started to notice that our dog had excessive drinking problems. So we grew to believe the specialist was wrong. We took her to vet #4 and he examined her and did all kinds of testing to figure out why she is only 40 some odd pounds at almost a year old. We found out she did have elevated white blood cell count but the tests could not show why. All of the meds this vet had her on the infection she has been dealing with was so strong her body was rejecting them all. Her discharge was getting worse so the vet decided our only way out was to spay our dog. So we did. We found out she had e.coli and staph in uterus. We made a good decision. We tryed to contact Joan various times and had many problems. As we did when we were trying to purchase our dog. She made up many excuses. She also was very rude and inconciderate. We went through all lenghths to save this dogs life. And we thought she was better and than it all began again. The dog still drinks excessive water for no reason. After her spay she was tested for various things and nothing is wrong with her blood work. Sometimes she decides not to eat. She will go for three days not eating. We have witched her food so many times because of this problem. She is still urinating everywhere. And is on meds to tighten her sphyncter. In which those are not working. She is also currently on Reconcile which is anxiety medication. She started engorging all of her food and vomiting it up and then eating it. We have been to our vet many times since her spay. We have consulted him over the phone. We have also consulted with our trainer that has been trying to get this dog in check for over a year now. The dog we have will be two in august of 08 (this year) and she only weighs 50 pounds. Our vet says that we have exhausted his knowledge and we should see a specialist. I have set up an appointment with a specialist tommorrow.
I have also contacted all of the groups she was supposedly part of and i contacted the presidents and they have all told her to get the names off of her site or legal matters will be taken. And I have noticed she has changed her site info.
