The morning sun rises.

We cry to let someone know we are here.

We scream and bark and nothing seems to work.

Nobody comes to see what is going on, so we begin to wonder.

We wonder if we will eat today.

We wonder if we will get any water today.

We wonder if we will get a clean place to lay. 

We wonder if will get to go outside.

We wonder if someone will pet us today.

We wonder if anybody will hug us today. 

We wonder if somebody will love us today.

We wonder if anyone cares.

We wonder if anyone knows we are here. 

We wonder if anybody knows we are suffering.

We wonder what we have done to deserve this treatment?

We wonder if God will answer our prayers today.

As we lay our heads down tonight to sleep we pray.

God please here our prayers.

We need your help. God please we are hungry.

God please we are thirty.

God we are dirty, because we can’t go outside.

God we want is for someone to help us.

God we only want someone the love and we promise to love them back.

God please here our cries and send us an angel.

God please put us into loving arms.

God please help us. Amen

The sun now falls into the night.

We wonder what we did wrong not to get any food today.

We wonder what we did not do right to receive any water today.

We wonder why we didn’t get to go outside today.

Maybe nobody loves us any more.

Maybe we did something wrong.

Maybe nobody heard our cries today.

Maybe they will hear us tomorrow.

We are all tired now.

We will try to sleep through the roaring sounds of our tummies.

We will try to sleep with our mouths being so dry.

We try to sleep through the smell and the pain in our hearts.

Maybe we can dream of a better tomorrow.

As the days turn into months, the months turn into years.

Maybe someone will hear us,

maybe some will send an angel to help,

maybe we can find some comfort in our lives,

maybe just maybe someday we will find comfort and peace in our hearts,

and our love in the heart of someone.
